I Want You – I Need You

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot at Dear Raymer in Los Angeles, California with an amazing hairstylist friend of mine, Nico Doniele. As much as I love shooting music I also really enjoy shooting fashion, so when I was asked to join the team I was thrilled. Dear Raymer is in the fashion district in downtown, LA which translates into: It’s in a fabulous old building with tons of appeal. The studio was beautiful with it’s raw brick walls, hardwood floors, and what seemed like 20 foot tall windows filling the room with gorgeous natural light. We shot one set of photos in there which I think turned out beautiful. Being that we were in such a great old building with many floors, hallways, and other places to get lost (which I totally would have had it not been for my assistants guiding me as I “oohed and awwed” the place) I decided to investigate what other interesting locations it held and found a stairwell that I liked. I was immediately attracted to the geometry, texture, and light in the space. It was also a great spot because there were so many different angles to shoot from. We found a handful of other spots in the building on our journey from the studio to the staircase and back. So here they are, a sampling of our day in and around Dear Raymer. Please note, some of the subject matter is provocative so please proceed with caution.
